Drapery Pin Instructions
The following instructions will guide you in properly inserting pins in your
draperies.
Please note there are seven pins provided for each drapery panel, unless you
have requested otherwise. We do not recommend hanging a rod pocket panel with
header on rings. If you desire to hang pinch pleat panels on a traverse rod or
rings, or to hang regular rod pocket panels on rings, please follow the
instructions below.
Pinch Pleat Panel
- Place your drapery panel face down on a flat surface.
- Locate a pleat seam.
- For your convenience, you may use the ruler provided on the outside of your pin
envelope to measure the appropriate pin setting for the rod you're using (refer
to the Pin Settings chart). The pin setting is the distance from the top of the
panel to where the top of the drapery pins will be inserted.
- Locate the middle of the pleat and insert the drapery pin the desired distance
from the top of the drapery. For each pleat, place each pin the same distance
from the top of the panel. This is important for the panel to hang evenly.
- You may choose to insert pins at the side seams of the drapery panel to give the
panel a more "open" look.
- Adjust the drapery pins as needed to create the style you desire.
- Once this is completed, your drapery panel is ready to be hung on rings and
placed on the rod.
Rod Pocket/Flat Panel

panel. This is only necessary if you wish to hang your rod pocket panel as a
flat panel from rings.

to the Pin Settings chart). The pin setting is the distance from the top of the
panel to where the top of the drapery pins will be inserted.
- Evenly space the drapery pins across the width of the panel.
